Manu

$700.00

This Manu Taonga is based on an older design found in Te Papa - our National Museum, in Wellington.

Some stories talk about how Manu / Birds would interact with Māori - speak to us, leading us, warning us, and even carrying people in some accounts.

Aotearoa New Zealand has always had an incredibly rich and vibrant birdlife from Coastal Shores, to bustling Ngāhere / Forests - so it's no wonder Māori people have had such strong connections to Birds.

This Taonga is a tribute to this connection, and seeks to symbolize the kind of Kaitiaki / Guardian that Birds have been, and continue to be.
